Menicon Co., Ltd., the first and largest contact lens manufacturer of Japan, acquired Soleko S.p.A.
The formalization took place on Thursday 10^th October at Soleko manufacturing site in Pontecorvo (FR), in the presence of Soleko employees and managers, led by the President Guido Carnacina, who were welcomed into the "Menicon family" by the CEO, Hidenari Tanaka, who came from Japan accompanied by a delegation of Japanese managers, along with those of the various subsidiaries.
The acquisition of Soleko will allow Menicon, which has already established a solid commercial base in the European market, to strengthen its marketing networks by adding a promising new market, the Italian one. Furthermore, Soleko manufactures unique products for contact lens care. By selling these products through its marketing networks, Menicon Group also expects to enjoy synergist effects by reinforcing its group-wide portfolio of contact lens care products.
Thanks to its entry into Menicon Group, Soleko will strengthen its structure, implementing its range of Rgp and specialty custom lenses with the full availability of Menicon contact lenses.
Menicon and Soleko have brought together their heritage of know-how, experience and capacity of innovation, continuing to pursue the goal they have always set themselves: offering a complete range of qualitatively and technologically innovative products for the health of the eyes of their end-users.
